The memorandum of understanding, signed and presented in Verona, between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Veneto Region, the Lombardy Region, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano aims to strengthen and internationalize the Northeast Logistics; it is not only a strategic tool but also defines a way of working, based on synergy and collaboration. The project aims to affirm the centrality of this Italian production macro-area and make it more competitive thanks to common actions and an effective logistic system. Among the topics covered by the protocol are the coordination of plans relating to transport, intermodality and logistics, the development and management of road and railway infrastructures, ports and interports, and digitalisation.
The Protocol also provides for the establishment of an interregional technical table which will evaluate a series of issues with particular attention to the functions of the ports, the airport system and infrastructures (RFI, Terminalitalia, Autostrade, ANAS, Internal Navigation System) and the territorial planning of settlements intended for logistics. The results of the work of the technical table will be presented during the states general of North-East Logistics which will be held every year. The first appointment will be in Veneto.
